Vilaflor Tour – Lookout point by bike
Tenerife, like all the Canary Islands, contains corners of unspoiled nature and breathtaking landscapes. This bike excursion will lead us to discover on our bikes numerous places that have made the island a popular destination for cyclists from all over the world. In fact, we will cross the territory of Vilaflor, the highest municipality in Spain, about 1400 meters above sea level.
The tour includes departure from the base of operations of Cycling in Tenerife on the Adeje – Torviscas Bajo coast or from your hotel.
From here we will start cycling north through the tourist resorts of Las Americas and Los Cristianos, facing a first climb to the town called La Camella, just 5 km from the tourist area.
Then we will continue to Valle San Lorenzo, a developing center, since it is crossed by the very important TF28 artery. It will be this road that will lead us to La Centinela, from which we can admire – from the San Miguel and Roque del Conde lookouts – a magnificent landscape characterized by volcanic formations such as the Montana Roja (the Red Mountain) and the various nature reserves that have been created over time.
Continuing on our bikes along the TF28, we will arrive in Granadilla de Abona, one of the largest centers on the island: from here we will start our very gradual 14 km climb, immersed in the pine forest that will take us to an altitude of 1400 to Vilaflor, land of culture, wine, honey and artisan crafts.
The ascent phase will cease at Pino Gordo, which the local inhabitants call the oldest pine on the island of Tenerife, 45 meters tall. Then we will make a stop at a cyclists’ bar before embarking on our return, which this time will be from La Escalona, passing Arona to our base.An immersion in the landscape of the island, a tour that, on request, can be customized according to your physical ability, with Easy, Medium or Expert options, with departures from different altitudes
