MTB PUEBLO DE VILAFLOR – CORONA FORESTAL
Off-road bike tour between the volcano and the countryside
Itinerary
The tour will start with the pick-up from your hotel by minivan, with Vilaflor as our destination, at 1400 meters above sea level, an obligatory tourist destination on the south-east slope of the Teide volcano.
After the initial briefing and after individually setting up and adjusting your bikes, we will proceed to the beginning of our off-road route, covering a few kilometers on asphalt to linger long enough in front of the majestic Pino Gordo, the oldest and largest Canarian pine in the archipelago, 1000 years old, 45 meters high and 9 meters in diameter.
We will continue off-road towards Madre de Agua for about 13 kilometers until we reach the entrance to the path to the Barranco del Rio, where we will travel on foot for about 5 minutes, along a stream of water surrounded by total greenery. We will jump aboard our bikes again until we arrive at El Salto, where we will stop one last time before returning to the meeting point with our minivan, going down towards the sea and crossing nature, sometimes on asphalted sections, sometimes on simple dirt roads.
Difficulty
The tour is of medium difficulty, both on a mountain bike and on an e-bike. During the ride, we will encounter some short stretches between the Barranco del Rio and El Salto that will have to be crossed on foot, and others that are quite technical and require good skills in off-road cycling downhill.
The Tour Guide
Accompanying you will be an experienced and professional guide, speaking English / Spanish / Italian, who will be able to give the right cycling tips to enable you to fully enjoy the landscapes you are going to discover.
